I wasn’t always a bigger girl, but I went through a terrible breakup when I was 20. It led to me becoming an emotional eater and consuming a lot of alcohol. I quickly packed on the weight. When I got to my heaviest, I went through another nasty break up, and I finally decided I needed to do something for myself for once. I was not happy with the way I looked or felt, and ultimately, you are the one in control of your own happiness. I, then, went through a series of every diet available. Nothing worked long term and I started to yo-yo with my weight. After having two kids and becoming a single mom, I was exhausted chasing after them all day by myself, and I knew I wanted to be the best version of myself for my two little girls. I had a few friends who had the gastric sleeve done at the OCC and they had incredible results. I was jealous of their weight loss. After feeling like I had tried every diet in the book, I was ready to make a complete lifestyle change. I was sleeved on January 19, 2017, at 215 lbs. and today I am 140 lbs and so incredibly happy with my results. I am 26 years old, 5’7, and have all my energy back. I can chase my two toddlers all day and not even feel winded anymore. I have fallen in love with working out, I love the way it makes me feel, and it no longer feels like a chore like when I was bigger. I have always struggled with my self-image, but for once in my life, I am comfortable with who I am, and what I look like. I can finally say that I am happy.
